In Friuli c’è un detto: “quando l’uva è buona, il vino viene da solo”. Se poi si aggiungono l’esperienza dell’uomo, la passione e terreni particolarmente vocati, il risultato non può che essere un gran bel vino. È il caso di Cicinis Collio Sauvignon Blanc di Attems, cantina fondata dal conte Douglas Attems a cui si deve anche la nascita, nel 1964, del Consorzio dei vini del Collio, di cui fu presidente fino al 1999.
Dal 2000 Attems è di proprietà dei Frescobaldi e al timone enologico c’è il giovane Daniele Vuerich che per affinare il Cicinis, punta di diamante della cantina, usa barrique in rovere francese e delle speciali botti in cemento e argilla a forma di uovo.
La verticale di Cicinis a cui ho partecipato qualche giorno fa da Peck a Milano ha mostrato un vino in grande evoluzione. Delle annate degustate (2015,2014,2013,2012,2011) le mie preferite sono state sicuramente la 2015 per la sua espressione esotica e calda e la 2013 per la commistione tra mineralità e sentori di mango papaya ananas e fiori bianchi. Cremosa la 2011, minerale la 2014, decisamente più scarico rispetto alle altre annate il 2012.
Cosa significa Cicinis? È un toponimo della zona. Un nome particolare per un vino altrettanto originale, complesso, di grande eleganza e perfetto equilibrio.

The vertical Cicinis I attended a few days ago at Peck in Milan has shown a great evolution in wine. Among tasted vintages (2015,2014,2013,2012,2011) my favorite was definitely the 2015 to its exotic and warm expression and 2013 to the mixture of minerality and hints of mango papaya pineapple and white flowers. Creamy the 2011, mineral the 2014, far more waste than other vintages the 2012.
What means Cicinis? It is a place name in the area. A special name for an equally original wine, complex, very elegant and perfect balance.
